So, who is looking to get involved w/ recruitment for the new Fall semester? I'm in the middle of a project @ work but recruitment starts on a Sunday so hopefully I'll be able to help at least one day!

Last year I helped on Sunday (when the PNM's visit all 13 houses) & then I helped Friday to count the bids! That was such an emotional day for me as I received a bunch of cards that had Sigma Kappa on it! Last year over 800 girls went through rush & Sigma Kappa reached quota! Hopefully this year will be just as good!

Does anyone else plan to help their local chapter?

My local chapter has spring rush. I'm going to grad school in the fall, but I'm have an apartment in Georgetown-where I went to school-so I will hopefully be helping with my chapter's rush. It's kinda weird to know that I'll be the alum that's checking the coats for the rushees. I always loved rush, but I hated it too. We always had to drop so many girls, and most girls usually want to be Sigmas, so it's hard to drop them. At least this time I won't have to go through the voting process! :)

I've met some of the girls from the Georgetown chapter before, I just can't remember their names! They've come to Theta Rho to help us w/ rush before!

And I did go to high school w/ Jennifer Cooper, she is a Georgetown SK!

JEN COOPER! I love her! We were really super tight our freshman year, we went to get our bid cards together and made our chapel day shirts together. But we never really saw each much as we grew older--tear--but I absolutely adore her! I went to HS with a girl from Theta Rho--Jenny Chavez. Have you heard anything about LO getting that job with nationals? I've tried calling her a few times, but we keep playing phone tag. I love LO!

I know Jenny! She graduated this past year didn't she?

I heard about LO's job w/ nationals! I've emailed her a few times! I'm so proud of her! Who doesn't love LO? :-D

Yeah, I just graduated, so Jenny should have too. I haven't talked to her since high school. LO's like my big sister/"mom". She was at Alpha Chi with my aunt and they were friends, and LO and I hang out together whenever we get a chance. I cooked her dinner one night at her house and I totally ruined one of her pots...come to think of it, we've always eaten out since then!

This is my first year on the other side for formal recruitment. I helped my chapter out for informal recruitment in the Spring semester though, but we could only take 4 girls to reach capactiy. My chapter has made quota every formal recruitment and the past 2 years we have been at capacity which is really awesome. I am hoping to help my chapter, but it might be a little difficult because I am a Grad student.

It is also going to be weird because recruitment is crammed into one week instead of 2 so it will be a hard adjustment for all of the chapters on my campus. We haven't done it this way in 4 years so most actives have not experienced rush this way. I am very excited to help with rush, but I am going to miss rushing girls and getting a rush crush. I love getting to meet all of the PNMs and watching there faces during our skits.

Recruitment is usually 2 weeks? Thats crazy!

You know what I love about helping out as an Alum? The rules aren't as strict for us! So if I can't help out every day its no big deal! Or if I need to sit down through one round they don't care! :)
